Dubreuil, Lauzon second again in ice dancing
TOKYO — Canadian champions Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon had set their hearts on gold, but they had to settle for silver for the second year in a row at the world figure skating championships. Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski of Bulgaria retained the ice dancing title Friday, and with the U.S. entry of Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto winning bronze, the podium was exactly the same as it was a year ago in Calgary. While the result was the same, emotions were much different. Dubreuil and Lauzon were thrilled to win their first world championship medal in Calgary, especially after Dubreuil’s hip injury from a bad fall that forced them to withdraw from the free dance at the Olympics. The Montrealers were shrouded in disappointment this time.

LISTMANIA! Who is the most influential Cache Valley resident?
Who are the most influential people in Cache Valley? We're not talking about the most recognizable people (we'll get to that later this year), but we want to know who are the individuals that have brought change, good or bad, or affected people's lives in our area. For the next week, you can nominate whoever you want and then argue about it. If you want to tell us who you think the 10 most influential people are, please do it. If you just want to advocate one person, that'll be cool too. What is LISTMANIA? Each week, we'll present you, the reader, with a topic and we'll ask you to give us your comments on it. Give us your own top ten lists, or just tell us what you think of one particular item on a potential list — basically, tell us what you think of the topic and then discuss it here with other Herald Journal readers.
