Hennon - Powell wedding
Jamie Powell and Joseph Hennon, both of Rome, were married at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at West Rome Christian Church. The bride is the daughter of Kenneth Powell, Joy Stewart and the late Keith Stewart. The groom is the son of Robin Hennon and the late James Hennon. Lamar Long performed the double-ring ceremony. A brass unity candle arrangement and a memory table decorated with white and pink liliums accented the altar. Memory candles were lit in honor of the brides stepfather and the grooms father. A program of wedding music was provided by Dawn Knowles, aunt of the bride. Selections included Unchained Melody, Maid Marion at the Waterfall from Robin Hood, Canon in D and Prince of Denmark. Program attendants were Teresa Williams, aunt of the bride, Amanda Powell, sister-in-law of the bride, and Dustin Powell, brother of the bride.
11/14/76: Album review: 'Night Moves'
Their roots are the same; their sound is different March 12, 2007 By CARL ARRINGTON Free Press music writer Originally ran November 14, 1976. Excerpt from a longer article on Detroit musicians: "Their roots are the same; their sound is different" Bob Seger pretty much shares the same Midwest rock roots as [Ted] Nugent, but he distills those influences into music that is more palatable and ultimately more enduring than Nugents. Like wise, his national popularity has been more gradual than Nugents but he is likely to survive longer when he arrives. Segers new album, Night Moves, is a perfect showcase for his street-smart music. Once again his prime asset is a rich and raw voice. It is searching and strung out in songs like Night Moves and Mainstreet.
